Customizing one's personal shelter was the seed from which civilization grew, and the home is most people’s entry point to architecture. Unsurprisingly, designing the spaces where lives are lived is also at the foundation of GOAT's practice. Spanning from our first built work, a series of modern shotgun prototypes in New Orleans, to the multi-family towers and planned neighborhoods we design today, crafting community spaces & homes is in our studio's DNA, and it always will be.

Our approach to residential and community design is one driven by engagement. Whether the project is a kitchen remodel or an entirely new subdivision, a tiny house ADU or a historic mansion renovation, we start by seeking to understand the life envisioned by residents and work to develop a design that reinforces that desire, re-imagines what might be possible, and injects the joie de vivre that our city’s culture has instilled in us.

Other than the home, the workplace is where many folks spend most of their time. It is also where people develop the skills of their trade, practice their passions, and build lifelong friendships and partnerships. Unfortunately, too often it is also an ill-considered, even a miserable, place to inhabit.

As companies have begun to rethink their respective work environments and invest in the well-being of their team members, GOAT has developed an expertise for reimagining workplaces with an emphasis on communal space, with democratized access to resources like daylight and views, and that encourage collaboration, socialization, and healthy, productive habits. In a world where working from home is easier than ever and employee retention is an ever-present challenge, centralized workplaces need to be assets to a company’s culture and bottom line. The GOAT design team has a proven track record of making that goal a reality.

The architecture of entertainment is not just a facet of our team's extensive expertise; it is what inspired GOAT's creation in the first place and has been a driving force behind our growth ever since. GOAT’s founding principals began their partnership while working together on an expansive gaming, dining, performance & hotel development and that experience has filtered into all of the practice’s work.
