Dr. Eric Royster takes a holistic approach to healing, treating his patients’ pain with a wide array of tactics including acupuncture, massage, psychological and physical therapy, cryotherapy, and traditional medical intervention. He and GOAT have worked to reimagine a compact and long abandoned office building in the Broadmoor neighborhood as the new home for his innovative practice. The diverse set of programmatic requirements and the compressed scale of the building and site provided a unique challenge.

The first floor of the building is envisioned as a spa and accommodates the alternative healing practices, psychological therapy offices, and the physical rehab center. The second floor clinic area accommodates the traditional patient rooms and the practice’s administrative functions. Connecting the two levels is a new elevator tower and entry vestibule.

The intensive and complicated program required an exhaustive and iterative design process; the solution that GOAT arrived at will perfectly compliment Dr. Royster’s unique character and his practice’s approach to healing.
