GOAT Invited to Showcase at World Renowned Venice Biennale of Architecture
GOAT is thrilled to share that we have been invited to showcase our work at the world renowned Venice Biennale in the European Cultural Center’s Time Space Existence exhibition. The event will feature installations by the world’s leading architecture and design firms, exploring humanity’s relationship with space and time.
Our planned installation will, of course, further explore GOAT’s raison d'être: the long-term future of New Orleans, our infamously endangered home city. We are taking this opportunity to launch an expansive, ongoing project that will seek to reset an often dystopian mindset and offer an alternative, radically optimistic vision: *foreverNOLA. The installation will document the beginning of this collective effort, and we plan to continually expand our research with the goal of establishing a communal plan for a thriving distant future for the city of New Orleans and its surrounding communities.
In Venice, we will showcase our research into the city’s geological past, present and future, while sharing the results of our engagement with the project’s stakeholders, i.e. the people of greater New Orleans. We have gathered this engagement both passively, with opportunities for residents to share their thoughts, placed strategically around the city, and actively, with filmed conversations with an exciting cross section of New Orleans characters, artists, experts, leaders, and visionaries. The resulting video will be the centerpiece of the installation in Venice, sharing the voices of our city with the world.
“Despite the evidence to the contrary, we believe that the continued existence of our home is non-negotiable and our role, as architects, is to help create a positive vision that we can all aspire to and to then draft the roadmap for achieving it,” shares Colin VanWingen, GOAT’s co-founder. The exhibition will be held from May 10 to November 23, 2025 throughout multiple venues in Venice and GOAT will be featured in the Palazzo Mora.
